Hollywood Glamour Meets Modern Sophistication with Complete Transformation and Redesign by David Collins, Gordon Ramsay's First West Coast Restaurant, and Global Concierge Service by Quintessentially LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels will re-open the Bel Age Hotel as The London West Hollywood (www.TheLondonWestHollywood.com) in April 2008, following a complete evolution in design, amenities and service. This all-encompassing renovation and refurbishment will redefine Los Angeles' boutique luxury hotel experience through a unique fusion of Anglo-European attitude with iconic Hollywood style. The opening comes a little over a year after the successful launch of its sister property, The London NYC in Manhattan and brings together many of the same award-winning partners and collaborators from that project -- including acclaimed designer David Collins Studio and award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay. "Drawing upon its previous incarnation as the Bel Age and a legendary location, The London West Hollywood will introduce a new era of haute living and dignified glamour to a hip and high profile neighborhood perched within the enclave of the Hollywood Hills. The hotel will share the refined feel of its Manhattan counterpart and will offer an exciting new design inspired by the landscape of the West Coast. We are excited to bring this concept to West Hollywood," said Jean-Jacques Pergant, co-President of LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels. Interior designers David Collins Studio, recognized for their innovative work on The London NYC, Nobu Berkeley Street, The Blue Bar at The Berkeley, Claridge's and the National Gallery, has re-imagined the hotel's interiors, creating a luxury experience filled with both functional and sensory elements. The transformation presents a head-to-toe makeover of the Bel Age, retaining the property's spectacular views and distinctive spaciousness of accommodations, while introducing new guest suite decor, a signature restaurant, bar and rooftop pool and spa. The world-renowned Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay, currently holding ten Michelin-stars, including the two Michelin-stars he received for his first US restaurant Gordon Ramsay at The London in October 2007, will make his Los Angeles debut with the opening of Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood, destined to become an exciting new social space. Taking cues from Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes and influences from maze, the menu introduces a new signature style inspired by California's fresh produce. The restaurant will offer two main dining rooms that mirror each other, centered by an expansive cocktail bar. Five private dining rooms will highlight the hotel's ambiance of inclusive exclusivity, in addition to a 3,960 square foot ballroom offering an unprecedented gourmet catering experience accommodating up to 300 guests banquet-style or 400 guests theater-style. Guests of the hotel will also be able to order from a special in-room dining menu created by Gordon and his team. Elegant yet understated, 223 expansive guest suites will feature bespoke furnishings and customized details such as embossed leather, velvet upholstery, bleached oak, hand-cut mosaic tiles and fine Italian linens. Each suite's unique open floor-plan presents unobstructed views through a private terrace to the West Hollywood landscape, encouraging guests to take full advantage of the enviable Southern California weather. These spectacular vistas overlook the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills skylines. Complete bath environments have been designed specifically for The London by luxury purveyor Waterworks in collaboration with David Collins Studio, and encompass a walk-in, glass shower with both jet and raindrop shower heads, separate soaking tub and generous dual vanity with ample shelf storage. Waterworks will also provide guests with custom bath apothecary amenities. Adjacent to the bath, a private dressing area includes oversized mirrored closets with built-in shelves and an individual lounge area with seated vanity. The living space will feature a chaise sofa, marble-topped ergonomic work desk and coffee table, dining table with seating for two and a personal full-service wet bar ideal for entertaining. Each 'tech-savvy' room also will include multiple docking outlets for cell phones, iPods and laptops plus a high-definition flat screen television and complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access. For trans-Atlantic business and leisure travelers alike, The London West Hollywood will offer free phone calls to the city of London for up to eight hours per day. Recapturing the elegance of Hollywood's Golden Age, the hotel will introduce a revitalized lobby, an attractive social space for guests designed to meet the needs of business and luxury travelers as well as introduce exciting new outdoor spaces for guests. Decorated with natural floral accents evocative of a traditional English garden with a signature L.A. twist, the new outdoor design will also introduce a rooftop, panoramic pool deck adorned with trees and white roses creating a sophisticated sanctuary. "The London West Hollywood will bring the style and aspirations of Beverly Hills to the more contemporary feel of West Hollywood," explains David Collins. "Our design concept focuses on luxury. We are completely reinventing the building to present a new take on glamour. It will be modern, in the sense that it will provide great service, accommodations and restaurants and offer some of the most beautiful rooms available in Los Angeles," said David Collins. Guests also will have the benefits of Quintessentially, the elite global personal concierge service on-site at The London West Hollywood. Quintessentially provides guests access to the seemingly inaccessible and will satisfy the whims of The London West Hollywood visitors, allowing them to experience the very best the city has to offer. The hotel will introduce a one-of-a-kind, rooftop spa experience, anticipated to open in late 2008. Centrally located, The London West Hollywood is convenient to all that the city has to offer -- from couture shopping and vibrant nightlife, to cultural attractions and theme parks, to major movie and recording studios. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes from either Los Angeles International Airport or Burbank's Bob Hope Airport.
