During her most recent visit to Los Angeles, our journalist Asia Abadie had the pleasure of experiencing the unique mix of lifestyle and luxury of the Pendry West Hollywood. Nestled along the famed Sunset Boulevard, the hotel effortlessly combines modern elegance with the vibrant culture of its iconic surroundings.
Built on the former site of LA's legendary House of Blues, the hotel is a tribute to its musical heritage and offers a refreshing perspective on modern hospitality, making it an ideal destination for anyone seeking a sophisticated yet spirited escape in the heart of LA.
Art, Music, and Culture
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a tree outside the entrance of the hotel adorned with Swarovski crystals and mother-of-pearl leaves that shimmer under the lights, at night creating an enchanting ambiance that elevates the evening experience, adding a touch of magic.
Inside, guests will find a stunning glass installation known for having been featured in the Glass Onion movie, the light display reflects Pendry's commitment to the arts.
Near the lobby, the intimate 20-seat screening room is perfect for private viewings, while The Sun Rose music venue is a centrepiece of Pendry's entertainment offerings. Built to pay homage to the House of Blues, this small, exclusive venue accommodates 90 seated guests or 150 standing with the bar and pastry kitchen and is a popular destination for music legends, including a recent surprise performance by Stevie Wonder. With shows three to four times a week by icons like Jeff Goldblum, who did a residency there, or Justin Timberlake, and a Grammy weekend or listening parties, the size of the venue allows it to emanate the intimate and special feeling from the rest of the hotel.
The city mandate is such that any business built where the House of Blues used to be, must have a music venue to honour it. This venue not only preserves the legacy of the House of Blues but also keeps guests within arm's reach of some of the world’s most talented musicians, offering a unique experience that extends beyond a typical hotel stay.

One-bedroom suites are equipped with a living area, double restroom, large bathroom with a bath and a shower and a bar area waiting for you with a bottle selection of wine, gin, tequila, whiskey, vodka and snacks as well as local beer.
Wellness & Spa
Pendry’s spa is an exclusive escape featuring a new membership program that attracts both locals and guests alike. This boutique wellness area offers IV drip treatments, nail appointments, and four treatment rooms, including a couples' space. Guests can unwind in the steam room and enjoy amenities provided by the renowned MIN brand.
Fitness enthusiasts will find a surprisingly spacious gym given the boutique size of the property. Equipped with top-tier equipment and a movement studio, it hosts daily fitness classes catering to different needs, from high-energy sessions at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to meditation and stretching classes at 3 p.m.
Culinary Excellence by Wolfgang Puck
All food and beverage services at Pendry are overseen by Wolfgang Puck, offering curated dining experiences for every occasion, from breakfast and lunch to diner at the hotel’s restaurant The Rooftop, to fine dining in private settings. The property is also a popular choice for group events, with a variety of private dining options, including a boardroom with a dedicated entrance and two spacious ballrooms.
