Taj Hotels, a part of the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), is a globally recognized hospitality brand owned by the Tata Group. Additionally, Taj has a significant presence in the Indian Ocean region, with hotels in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and is set to expand into Germany next year. Currently, the company has over 100 hotels, with 30 more under construction or development.

Taj Hotels is renowned for its collection of historic palaces that offer guests an authentic royal experience. These properties are meticulously restored and provide immersive stays, where visitors can live like Maharajas and interact with royal families.
 
Key palace hotels include:
  • Rambagh Palace – Located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Rambagh Palace is a historic property. It was ranked as the best hotel in the world by TripAdvisor.
  • Taj Lake Palace – Situated in Udaipur, Rajasthan, it is renowned for its unique location in the middle of Lake Pichola.
  • Umaid Bhawan Palace – A top-rated luxury palace.
  • Taj Falaknuma Palace – A regal experience in Hyderabad.
  • Gorbandh Palace – The latest addition in Jaisalmer.
 
These heritage properties offer curated experiences, such as authentic regional cuisines, cultural performances, and interactions with local artisans.

Taj Hotels has a dense presence in India’s most popular tourist destinations, including:
  • Rajasthan – Known for its vibrant heritage and palaces.
  • Kerala – Famous for backwaters and wellness retreats.
  • Goa – Home to 17 Taj properties catering to beach lovers.
  • Northeast India – A fast-growing region where Taj has developed six properties to promote tourism.

Luxury with a purpose: unique travel experiences

Taj Hotels offers exclusive curated travel experiences under its various brands:
  • Taj Holidays – A collection of luxury itineraries, including Royal Escapes, Wildlife Trails, and the Best of Kerala.
  • Carecations – A unique initiative where guests can engage in community service during their stay, such as teaching children or working with artisans.
  • Woyage – A package designed for solo female travellers, ensuring a safe and luxurious travel experience.

Over the next 18 months, Taj Hotels will open several new properties in key Indian and international destinations, including:
  • Ayodhya
  • Puri
  • Pondicherry
  • Lakshadweep Island
  • Frankfurt, German
  • Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Manama, Bahrain
  • Makassar, Indonesia

Taj Hotels operates under a multi-brand strategy, catering to different traveller segments:
  • Taj – The flagship brand offering high-end luxury.
  • SeleQtions – Boutique and heritage hotels.
  • The Gateway – Upscale full-service hotels.
  • Vivanta – Premium lifestyle hotels.
  • Ginger – Budget-friendly hotels for business and economy travellers.
  • Tree of Life – A new boutique luxury brand recently added to the portfolio focusing on intimate, culturally rooted experiences.
  • Ama Stays & Trails – A curated collection of homestays across India.
