A discreet change of name, but one that has been confirmed, since last April the school received AACSB Business certification from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, joining the ranks of institutions in the business school sector, such as HEC Paris and the American Ivy League schools.
Underpinned by this new identity, EHL invited the press to the Salon Marie-Antoinette at the Hôtel de Crillon on Thursday November 21, to present some of its new programs, aimed at the future elite of hotel management.
Course of Creating Social Impact through Entrepreneurship for the Bachelor in Hotel Management
For the past two semesters, the school has been offering a course entitled Creating Social Impact through Entrepreneurship, integrated into the Bachelor in Hotel Management program.
Under the direction of Inès Blal, former dean of the school where she herself studied, and co-director of EHL's Institute for Nutritional Research and Development, this six-week course enables some 40 students to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by companies with a social mission in addition to their profit-making activities.
In collaboration with Swiss company Blindspot, the students were also able to reflect on the creation of inclusive projects, in line with these social entrepreneurship values, such as Café Joyeux, which employs people with disabilities, or Jardins du Cloître, a bistronomic restaurant that integrates young people from Marseilles' priority neighborhoods into its kitchens.
New specialization in luxury experience management for the master
Under the guidance of Florent Girardin, also an alumnus of the school and assistant professor of marketing, students of the for students of EHL's Master in Hospitality Management will focus on the management of luxury brands, with a partnership of choice, since EHL and Cartier have joined forces to “master the principles of hotel management, in order to improve consumer engagement and develop innovative luxury concepts”.
It's a partnership that could be emulated, as the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) group and the Swiss school announced on Wednesday November 25 the signing of a collaborative union to “increase the attractiveness of the hotel and restaurant sector, while encouraging the development of SBM employees' skills.”
