Next week, from 5 September, Maison&Objet opens its doors for its second edition of the year. As usual, the anticipated theme was unveiled last March: Terra Cosmos, spaces full of future promise, designed by the Peclers Paris agency. The idea is to highlight raw materials, multi-faceted luminosity, colours, and everything that evokes a cosmic universe and its mysteries.

Once again, the theme will take the form of three What's New? Spaces: In Hospitality, In Retail and In Decor.

For In Hospitality, Lionel Jadot, Designer of the Year and specialist in up-cycling, offers a change of scenery with unique objects in a multifunctional space to be visited in Hall 6. Another event in Hall 6, is the Accor Design Awards x Sofitel - 2024 Luxury Edition prize-giving ceremony will also take place in the Hall. To mark Sofitel's 60th anniversary, the competition saw 100 hotel lobby projects submitted by 20 schools in eight countries. Of the 10 finalists selected, three winners will be announced: the winner, the People's Choice Award and the Jury President's Award.

François Delclaux, founder of the agency Un Nouvel Air, will be presenting his selection of objects for In Retail in Halls 3 and 4. With his keen eye for trends, he offers retailers the chance to revamp their windows, points of sale and merchandising to take the shopping experience to new heights.

Elizabeth Leriche, meanwhile, will get our “head in the stars and feet firmly planted on the ground to connect with the universe” in her selection of In Decor, to be found in Hall 7. Following on from Nouveaux Mondes in January, the scenographer is playing on “the opposites of sky and earth, transparency and opacity, the infinitely small and the immensely large…” for this immersive trail.

Maison&Objet takes place from 5 to 9 September 2024 at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Paris Design Week takes place from 5 to 12 September 2024 in Paris.
