Kerzner International has announced on LinkedIn the appointment of Paul Baker to succeed Tim Kelly as President for Atlantis. Paul Baker, who was previously president of the Grand Lisboa Palace in Macau, brings almost twenty years' experience in the casino and hospitality industry.

According to Skift, Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International, said in an internal memo: “Paul brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to our organization. Throughout Paul’s career, working in key markets including Las Vegas, America, Malaysia, and Macau, China, Paul has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership and a deep understanding of the integrated resort industry.” The new President of Atlantis will initially oversee Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, while Atlantis Sanya in China will be led by Martin Chung, Kerzner's Executive Vice President of Operations, until Paul Baker is fully familiar with the brand.

The appointment comes at a time when the United Arab Emirates has made no secret of its interest in the gaming industry. The new President’s extensive experience, including senior roles at Wynn Macau and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, will ensure that he is well-equipped to meet the new challenges ahead.
