For Corinne Secco, Director of Courchevel Emploi, organizing seasonal job fairs on the French Riviera serves the ambition of attracting candidates “who meet the standards of the hotel and restaurant industry in Courchevel”. This aspiration reflects the growing needs of the resort's luxury hotel industry. The director told Journal des Palaces that she hoped to “reach 200 visitors at each show”.
To increase the chances of success, this year's fair has been multiplied, with a second Monégasque edition at the Fairmont Monte Carlo on Tuesday 27 August, a first Cannes edition at the Carlton Cannes on Wednesday 28 August, and a third round in Saint-Tropez in the Jean Despas room on Thursday 29 August.
Courchevel and the French Riviera: a long-standing partnership and a strong palace presence
The complementary nature of seasonal properties on the French Riviera and those in Courchevel no longer needs to be demonstrated, so these trade fairs are a natural part of a partnership aimed at facilitating the recruitment of seasonal workers in Courchevel. It's a reciprocal approach, as a recruitment session for properties on the French Riviera has been held in Courchevel in February “for many years now”. “We have organized these recruitment campaigns at the end of August on the coast, to meet seasonal workers on summer fixed-term contracts, and this year in Corsica, where we will be visiting in September”, explains Corinne Secco.
Between 500 and 800 jobs will be on offer at these events, covering “all hotel industry and catering professions: culinary, dining room, reception, concierge, well-being, administrative, maintenance, entertainment, etc.”. Some twenty properties are also taking part, including Courchevel's five palaces: Airelles, K2, Cheval Blanc, L'Apogée and Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges.
Optimism for the future of Courchevel's seasonal workers
As well as its location in the heart of the 3 Valleys, promising snow lovers top-quality powder snow, candidates choose Courchevel for its prestige, the quality of its hotel facilities and the many benefits offered to its seasonal workers. Courchevel Emploi is committed to “improving the daily lives of seasonal workers” and building their loyalty from one season to the next.“90% of jobs in Courchevel are housed by employers, including around 500 accommodations provided by the town hall,”explains Corinne Secco.
The Savoyard resort also boasts a free shuttle service, negotiated prices in shops and for ski passes to take advantage of the 600 km of slopes, and its aqua centre. The presence of the “Saison Fun” association complements these advantages, strengthening links and creating a festive atmosphere among seasonal workers. “Courchevel Emploi has also been awarded the 'espace saisonnier' label and is a resource centre for seasonal workers,” adds Corinne Secco.
The recent announcement that France has been awarded the 2030 Winter Olympics has bolstered the resort's optimism in terms of tourism and employment. “The prospect of the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Games will boost initiatives, sporting events and infrastructure developments,” says Corinne Secco.
The job fairs organized by Courchevel Emploi on the French Riviera offer candidates the opportunity to meet prestigious employers and discover career prospects, directly from their seasonal workplace. So they can look forward to their shoulder season with peace of mind.
