It's a well-known fact that true luxury is being at home in other people's homes! The luxury hotel industry has perfectly embraced this new lifestyle trend and has come up with an appropriate response to this growing trend. As a result, residences, flats, bungalows, and even villas have become the trump cards of the luxury hotel industry, offering an alternative type of accommodation for guests with varied expectations.

The objective and the challenge for the major properties are above all to offer a range of accommodation that matches the luxury they claim, an offer that equals the luxury standards that guests are used to finding when they stay in their hotels. This additional accommodation is a way of satisfying guests who are looking for privacy without neglecting the very high-end hotel services.

In this vein, the Château Saint-Martin & Spa, popular with guests looking for peace and quiet, has extended its range to include several places to stay. Here, the range of prestigious accommodation extends beyond the walls of the château. Six villas, also owned by Oetker Collection, are now complemented by a portfolio of private homes offering free access to the palace's services.

Above all, these villas reflect the Côte d'Azur lifestyle that some travellers like to adopt. Autonomy, discretion, and independence are the watchwords here.

From the Villas du Château…

Built in 1960, the 'Villas du Château' are nestled overlooking the château, with views of the palace and the Mediterranean. To make the experience between the villa and the château as seamless as possible, Villa du Château rental includes transfers by private car between the hotel and the villas.

These six villas, fully renovated between 2018 and 2019, have one to three bedrooms and range in size from 70 to 180m². As well as enjoying the château's services, such as an inclusive breakfast and round-the-clock room service, guests benefit from services that complement those offered in the château's rooms. Fully equipped kitchens allow guests to call on the services of a private chef for an exclusive and discrete experience.
To offer an increasingly impeccable service and experience, renovations are regularly undertaken to enhance guest comfort. For the opening of the 2024 season, Villa Saint-Martin will unveil an outdoor swimming pool, while Villa Riou will add a whirlpool bath.

To the Château Villa Rental offer

The success of villa rental on the French Riviera and of the Villas du Château has prompted Château Saint-Martin & Spa to expand its offering. This year, the palace has unveiled the Château Villa Rental offer, which includes three exceptional villas with facilities and locations that match the palace's standards. Villa Saint-Paul, Villa Bay View and Villa La Bastide welcome guests in spaces ranging from 261 m² to 400 m², offering architecture and surroundings that complement those of the Château Villas.

Here again, guests have access to the hotel services of the Château Saint-Martin & Spa, plus a dedicated butler, daily housekeeping and a chef for breakfast and dinner. Each villa also offers privileged access to the hotel's facilities, including gourmet restaurants, spa and swimming pool. Limousine transfers to and from Nice Côte d'Azur airport and a wine tasting at the Château are also included, taking the experience up several notches.

A consistent focus: 'palace' services

While the profile of guests at the private villas is varied, they all share the same quest for comfort and luxury. The villas attract foreign guests who appreciate the top-of-the-range services and exclusive setting.

“Nothing is left to chance, and the dedicated teams have been trained beforehand to deliver optimum service,” says Valérie Muller, Communications Director, who emphasises the excellence of the service provided both in the villas and at the château. “Our teams do their utmost to make each guest feel at home, 'A home away from home', by anticipating the needs of each individual, while keeping in mind the values of Oetker Collection, namely humility, creativity, elegance, family spirit and kindness,” she adds.

The teams working in the villas receive special training from the Château's general housekeeper, Sophie Coste. “They adapt their know-how”, Valérie Muller assures us, to offer optimum service, in line with the high standards of Oetker Collection. “As the Château Saint-Martin & Spa's services have been recognised for their quality by professional travel experts, Travel & Leisure, 550 Best Hotels Worldwide 2023 and Forbes Travel Guide 2023, offering our expertise to rental guests is a sure-fire way of attracting guests,” she adds.

Although hotel residences are nothing new, the major luxury hotel industry groups seem to be taking an increasing interest in them and are rolling out increasingly attractive packages for guests who want to be dazzled even more. There's no doubt that the luxury of being at home, in someone else's home, has a bright future ahead of it…
