Since its arrival in Morocco in 2022, the AICR has been committed to promoting and enhancing the hospitality professions in the kingdom, under the aegis of its president, Clément Fabiani, room division manager of the Royal Mansour Marrakech hotel.

In founding the AICR Morocco, Clément Fabiani's ambition was to “highlight the profession of receptionist, the gatekeeper of the 'first impression', an essential stage in the guest experience”, recalls the president in an interview with Journal des Palaces. Since its creation, the association has been committed to “helping to raise the profile of Moroccan hospitality on the international stage and encouraging more talented people to join these fine professions”.

“A committed community of over 700 people”

The Moroccan chapter has grown rapidly, and now has more than 17 participating properties and 22 members. After organising the national Best Receptionist 2024 competition and honouring Nouhaila Chamrani, the AICR Morocco chapter was represented at the international World Best Receptionist competition, held in Nice last February.

The events organised by the AICR Morocco have already “enabled our community to come together around a common passion for the art of hospitality; a time for exchanging, passing on and sharing experience, promoting Moroccan hospitality on an international scale”.

The association intends to strengthen its partnerships and collaboration between Moroccan hotels, to ensure the long-term future of the national competition. “We communicate regularly on the actions and values of the AICR Morocco, which has enabled us to gather a committed community of over 700 people who relay our events and encourage new members who share a passion for the hospitality profession to join us”. A synergy that stimulates hoteliers and encourages them to motivate their talents to take part in national and international competitions. A dynamic network that, above all, encourages the transmission of knowledge and the development of the profession.

Enhancing the attractiveness of the hotel industry in Morocco

As Morocco prepares to host the Football World Cup in 2030, the hotel industry is experiencing exponential growth, offering unrivalled career opportunities in the Kingdom. “The AICR Morocco wishes to support the challenges facing the industry, in particular by helping to consolidate the attractiveness of the sector” and by encouraging more talented people to join its ranks.

Clément Fabiani now hopes to “maintain the momentum and bring together more properties and members for the next national competition”. In the medium term, the association is working on the development of “specific and exclusive training courses run by renowned speakers on topics such as upselling, the guest experience and the codes of the art of hospitality for AICR Morocco members”.

These projects are all designed to enhance Moroccan hospitality. It's an ambition that motivates Clément Fabiani and the members of the AICR Morocco daily.
