As the winter season prepares to open its doors, the very select Jardin Alpin district in Courchevel 1850 is buzzing with festivities. And with good reason: L'Apogée Courchevel, an Oetker Collection property, is about to celebrate its 10th birthday! Created on the historic site of an Olympic ski jump installed in the 1960s by local legend and Alpine skiing champion Émile Allais, this five-star hotel, which became a Palace in 2019, is one of the iconic properties in the most popular resort in the Trois Vallées.
One of this season's new features is the opening of a temporary Italian restaurant called Gennaro's. Created in collaboration with Gennaro Esposito, Michelin-starred consultant chef and executive chef of La Palma in Capri, a member property of the Oetker Collection, it will showcase Italian classics sublimated with a Neapolitan touch and prepared using the finest Italian ingredients with sharing dishes.
To celebrate this decade of exceptional comfort, fine cuisine and everyday excellence, L'Apogée Courchevel has once again showcased its unique expertise and unrivalled ability to organise unrivalled experiences that delight its guests. With its "Coucher de Soleil" offer, the Palace invites visitors to take a seat in a snow groomer and, after a journey of around twenty minutes, reach one of the resort's summits. Up there, high above the peaks, these "romantic adventurers" will be able to marvel at the sunset behind the Alpine peaks, while sipping a cocktail prepared by the hotel bar staff, accompanied by an exquisite snack of petits fours prepared by chef Jean-Luc François. "This is an exceptional moment, a tribute to Courchevel's origins as a destination that combines innovation with the magic of its natural history", says the Palace, contacted by the Journal des Palaces. An unforgettable painting, to be sure!
As the highlight of this tenth anniversary, L'Apogée Courchevel will be decked out in the colours and finery of the Thousand and One Nights for New Year's Eve. In the hotel, transformed for the occasion into a veritable Persian palace, over a dinner concocted by the hotel's executive chef, Jean-Luc Lefrançois, featuring exquisite dishes with a thousand flavours, dancers draped in twirling veils will sway until the first light of day, to the rhythm of the melodies of the musicians and the set prepared by the DJ. "During this magical evening, a talented calligrapher will transform everyone's inspirations into personalised works of art, adding a unique dimension to your experience," adds the property, which flies the Oetker Collection flag. A perfect way to start 2024, in the shoes of Scheherazade, Aladin or Ali Baba, floating on a magic carpet above the snowy peaks of the Tarentaise.
